Tam's Going Away Party

So my sister Tamarah is moving to San Francisco, California. She left last night and we had a going away party for her earlier this week to say good-bye and give her some gifts. We had a great time and we are going to miss her. I will definitely miss my Koochie :) Lots o' love from all of us, Tam!!!

Arrrgh!

I am exactly halfway in my pregnancy at 20 weeks and I have a problem. A problem, my friend, that will only get worse with time. I have serious back pain. It comes and goes all day but it's the worst at night. It's right between my shoulder blades in the middle of the back. I can't get rid of it!! If anyone has any pointers, I would appreciate them! My doctor says laying in a recliner chair would help tons but we don't have a recliner chair......so I need other options.
Help me.

Pictures of the dogs with the new camera

So I was feeling like taking pictures and since there's not a whole lot in my house to take pictures of except the dogs, I followed them around for a little bit and took pictures. I think the pictures turned out pretty good. I love my new camera! And if you think the pictures of the dogs are bad, just wait until the baby gets here and I'm all about that :)

The Body Pillow

So I bought a body pillow while Vincent was out of town because I am having the hardest time being comfortable while sleeping and it was suggested by several people. The body pillow is amazing. I don't know how a super long pillow makes the difference but it does. While Vincent was gone, I was sleeping amazing. It makes me want to lay down now just talking about it. A body pillow is definitely a sign that you're getting bigger in your pregnancy when your belly needs a pillow all on its own for support. Yikes. Oh well, it's a good thing right?

Vincent got home Friday and I was so excited because I really did miss him. But the issue of the body pillow came up right away. We laid down for bed and were drifting off to sleep. The body pillow was between us and I was in a perfect position on it. Then I felt it. His hand sliding between my body and the pillow. He was pushing me away from the one thing that helped me sleep! As I lay there, first his hand then his wrist, then his arm and finally his shoulder were between me and the body pillow. Next I felt his leg below gain more access to the pillow. That's when I finally said something. His response was a puppy dog look and "Babe, I need support from something and if you're not going to let me lay on you, then I need this pillow." So the only other option to taking my pillow is for him to lay on me?? Really???

Since we have extra pillows on the guest bed, I grabbed those and made a "body pillow" for him out of those. Who would've thought that the man about to have a baby act like such a baby??? Geez........ :)

What's the good word?

So I don't really have anything to blog about except the baby. I finally felt him kick a few days ago. It was definitely something, at this point, that I had to be watching for and I haven't felt it since. It was like bubbles in my tummy. I know it will get more noticeable as I get further along but I really want to feel it again.

Also, the dogs seem to know that I'm pregnant. When I lay on the couch, Bailey will immediately come over and smell my belly like she's hunting. Then she'll start licking my belly. Both of the dogs have been trying to lay on my belly at any chance they get. I looked it up on the internet and it's definitely more common than not for dogs to know that women are pregnant. It's kinda weird but cute that they're being so attached.

Vincent goes out of town this week until Friday for work. This is the first time in our marriage that we have been apart. I am actually looking forward to it. I have a lot of shows in my DVR to catch up on plus NetFlix DVD's to watch. On top of that, classes start this week so I'll be a busy little bee. Other than that, just keeping it real. Sorry for no pictures. I'll post some on a later blog.......

It's a Boy!

Yay!! It's going to be a boy and we are so excited! Here are the pics to prove his manhood!

Just hanging out and keeping it real......
Sucking on a thumb

And that is definitely a boy....and what a BIG boy he is :)
Just in case you don't know how to look at this picture--the camera is below him looking up between his legs, so his little butt is to the left and the 2 lines sticking out are his legs but the 3rd line in the middle of the 2 is not to be confused with a leg........ :)

What's It Gonna Be?

So in exactly 1 week on Wednesday, Jan. 14th we find out if we are having a boy or girl. So for fun I decided to take a poll and see what y'all think we're having. The poll is anonymous so I won't come back and prove you wrong when we find out. I just want to see what everyone wants or thinks I am going to have. I want a boy and Vincent wants a girl. What do y'all think- take the poll!

She's Crafty

2 blogs in 1 day--yay!!
I wanted to share my Christmas gift that I made and am just so proud of! All thanks to my friend Lauren! I totally stole the idea from her :) Thanks, L Dub!
I bought travertine tile from Home Depot, with some cork board liner and a gold paint pen- that's it! Then wrapped it up with some ribbon and ~VOILA~ perfect holiday gift! It was so inexpensive but everyone loved them! And it didn't take long to make. Check it out......

Happy New Year's

This year we kept it simple and hung out with the family for New Year's. It was a lot of fun. Everyone came over and we had dinner together. Then we ended the night with some (semi-illegal) fireworks. Why does my family love shooting fireworks off so much???? But it was a lot of fun and it was nice having Galen home.
