Dogs Can Be So Entertaining....

I know I've blogged about Bailey bobbing her head to and fro before but it's just so funny to Vincent and I. I know other dogs must do this but Lilly never did and hasn't yet, so we only have Bailey to laugh at. We finally figured out that it's my cell phone ring tones that guarantee a good time every time. So I put her on video and just went through some of my ring tones. Priceless. It's the little things in life that entertain Vincent and I...... :)

Happy Birthday Evan!

So one of my favorite little boys (in Texas), Evan, turned 3. Monique and Dave threw him a party at the pool and Evan couldn't be happier! He loves pirates right now and boy does he make a cute one!! Sometimes I think I could just eat him, he's so darn adorable! But he made out like a bandit with his gifts and he honestly didn't know which ones to play with first......
Happy Birthday Evan and enjoy the big 3!

Happy 4th of July

Yeah, yeah. I know it's a little late but I forgot my camera that day so I had to get the pictures from my sister-in-law, Becky. Thanks Becks!

So for the 4th, my dad rented a party boat and 2 jet skis and it was a blast!! Everyone was allowed to invite 1 friend of our choice (except for me and Vincent- we forced to bring Ryan and Katie since he's my childhood friend and every one's favorite!) But it was a good time--my parents brought more than enough food and drink too. Then, the fireworks were amazing! We could see all the cities surrounding the lake.......I think we decided that The Colony's was the best! Thanks Mom & Dad for such a great time! We need to do it again next year!!

Not a great pic- but the back of the boat (a.k.a. "the old people")
I with you could see Papa Masdon's hat better--it's awesome!

Odd Man Out

So after being told that I have Sjogren's Syndrome, my primary doctor referred me to a rheumatologist. Just in case you don't know what they do, they mainly deal with people who have such illnesses like arthritis.

Yesterday was my appointment. I had to drive all the way to Dallas and make my way up to the 3rd floor of an especially old-looking building. The elevator door opens right into the doctor's waiting room, where about 35 people, all over the age of 65 are staring at me. I sign in and sit down in the only seat right next to a lady with an oxygen tank. I look around for magazines and find a table full of them but the only selection-- Arthritis Today.

So I picked up the magazine and faked interest in all the different advances in the world of arthritis. They finally called my name and told me to wait in the 2nd waiting room. Seriously, this 2nd waiting room was directly behind the receptionist desk. I'm not sure what the point of moving to that room was. All I could think is that most of the patients at this particular facility needed a rest every 50 feet or so. This waiting room only had 3 other ladies in the room with me, all with oxygen tanks. I could feel their stares as, once again, I look for a magazine, only to find the same selection as the first waiting room. Then I had to go to the restroom. As soon as I walked in I see this:

I immediately walk out and ask the receptionist if there are multiple restrooms or just one. I literally hear one of the ladies with oxygen tank start giggling. The lady at the desk laughed a little too and then pointed to the restroom I just walked out of. I walked back in and then decided that it must be something that can be removed for users like myself. Nope. Must've been super-glued in or something because the thing wouldn't budge. I have never felt so awkward in my life as I did when I had to sit down on that. It just felt wrong.

When I walked out of the restroom the lady with the oxygen tank that had laughed at me before was talking to another lady with an oxygen tank and pointing at me. Then the two looked at each other and laughed. I could not believe it. Here I was, just finished using the restroom on some sort of toilet aid and now being laughed at by ladies with oxygen tanks. What are the odds???

Isn't It Ironic?

Just when this guy thinks he's in the clear for not dying in a plane crash, this happens.....

HOUSTON -- Three fishing buddies were returning from Port Lavaca on Tuesday night when their single-engine plane stalled in mid-air. The small Cherokee was put down in a vacant lot, about a mile short of the runways at Hobby Airport.

The force of the crash broke off the plane’s nose gear and crumpled the plane’s fuselage. And while no one was hurt from the crash, one passenger aboard the plane did receive a number of crab pinches.

“When this happened, Craig was sitting in back and he said the cooler just went. Crabs went all over him just biting him left and right,” said Georgette McGuire, the girlfriend of one of the men aboard the plane. “He said it was driving him crazy. He’s got a bunch of crab bites on him.”

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating what caused the plane to stall.

Jury Duty

I have never been called for jury duty. And although a lot of people moan and groan about getting called, I have always wanted to go. I always wanted to see our justice system in action, even though I don't always agree with it.

Well Vincent got called for jury duty for Monday. He gets called every year. He's convinced that they try to call as many minorities as possible and he's sure that now that we share the same last name, I'll get called every year (I'll keep you posted). But Vincent did NOT want to have jury duty. For the main reason of falling behind at work and also because he didn't want to do it since he does it every year.

So I decided to help him not get picked since Everett, a lawyer on the Russ Martin show, gave tips for not being picked as a juror. I told Vincent to dress as grungy as possible, i.e. Marilyn Manson shirt. I was in my bathroom getting ready and he comes in to show me his "grungy" wear. It's a wrinkled, plain t-shirt and jeans with holes in it.....My poor husband doesn't even know what grungy is or maybe his desire to look good all the time kept him from dressing bad. I don't know but he needed help. I went through his t-shirts and the best I could find was a free t-shirt from PetSmart with kittens on it. It would be cute on a 5 year old but creepy on a 28 year old man. We went with that. I instructed him to act as creepy as possible, maybe even "petting" the kitties on his shirt while they talked to him.

Later on, I received this text: I pet the kitty on my shirt while they talked to me. Then they picked me to be a juror for not just today but for the next week. Then the bailiff asked me, in front of everyone, if the kitties on my shirt belonged to me in real life since I appeared attached to them while I was getting interviewed. Great. This is going to be a long week.

I know I shouldn't laugh at my poor husband but it's just so funny. That would only happen to him. Love you, babe!

Can Men Survive Without Women?

I just have to complain about men for one blog (no offense to Jake, my number 1 fan) but I really do wonder what's wrong with men (most, not all). Take my husband, Vincent. He has a degree from Baylor, and graduated top 15% of his high school. So you would assume a fairly smart man. Well, I question his intelligence on a daily basis.
For example, a few days I made dinner, chicken enchiladas. I sat down and he went back to get salsa. I was distracted watching TV so I didn't realize how long he had been standing in front of the fridge until I heard "We don't have salsa." Knowing that I had just bought some and that there is no way that the dogs would have devoured it, I said "No, it's there". Then came "Where?? It's no where to be seen!" I looked in the direction of the fridge (I had a clear view of the front) and I see the bottle of salsa sitting on the top shelf, all by itself. Unbelievable. I am amazed. I sit there waiting for him to see it. I even say "Wait for it......wait for it......". Nothing. He closes the door and turns around and then decides to sport a 'tude. "See. I told you there was no salsa", with his arms crossed like he was telling me what was up. WHAT? Is he retarded??? I calmly walk over and open the fridge and pull out the salsa and put it on the sink. This is what he says to me as I walk away, "Oh, it must've been hidden behind something." Yeah, that's it. This exact same scenario happens on a daily basis. So much so that I don't understand how he's not embarrassed about letting it happen again. You'd think he'd look really, really hard to make sure he's not taught yet another lesson by his wife.
I don't understand it. At some point men had to live on their own (before they got married) and they managed to find things, right??? How is it when they get married they suddenly lose any ability to find things on their own? Do they just become lazy? It doesn't seem like that with Vincent because he seems angry when he can't find something. Or is it that they need a replacement mother figure? I don't know what it is but I wish I could cure it! It drives women insane!!
