Who Doesn't Love a little Justin Timberlake?

My friend, Kim in Michigan (I heart and miss you!), sent me a video of her son, Ephraim, dancing to a little JT. Since I can't check my Yahoo! mail or open videos at work and I hardly use my computer at home, I hadn't actually seen the video until now. Let me just say, Kim's kids are the cutest!! Seriously, I hope I have little boys as adorable. This video will put a little smile on your face....

Great Idea For All Pet Owners....

So yesterday was our first day to try out this dog food delivery service and we love it! We found out about it back in October when we took Lilly to this "Dogtober Fest" where you take your dogs in their Halloween costumes and do all sorts of fun things for them. There was a booth for this dog food delivery company and we stopped and took a brochure. We blew it off until Vincent found the brochure again while cleaning and looked at the prices. We buy only Iams for the dogs because when we bought the cheap stuff once it was a terrible 2 days at the Martinez household because of their digestive systems (yuck!). The Iams 25 lb bag is around $25-26, I believe. Well after looking at their prices it's better than Iams! The one we are ordering has the same ingredients as Iams. For a 25 lb bag, it was $23.00 and that includes delivery!! This service is perfect because I usually do the grocery shopping and I hate lifting that huge bag onto my cart and lugging it around the store and then putting it in my car after. This way, we stick our empty food container on our porch, they fill it up on Wednesday afternoons and when we get home we have a full container!

And our final test was to see if the dogs liked it. They loved it! I don't think Bailey's opinion matters right now because she eats whatever she can get her chubby little paws on. But Lilly couldn't stop eating it and I haven't seen her do that in awhile!

I know I sound like a commercial but I can't say enough about this company. It's a brilliant idea and their prices are great. Try it out if you have dogs or cats because they have cat food too.

I have attached the brochure we have but it's for the Fort Worth district. If you aren't in the Fort Worth area, then check out http://www.gonaturesselect.com/ because they have a person who delivers to the Dallas area. (I think you can click on each one to make it bigger if you can't read it)

What's The Point........?

So as I continue on my career path here at Staff Care I meet new people all the time. A lot of them- VERY COOL. A few- NOT so cool. And recently I have come across a personality type that grinds my nerves.

It's the personality that feels like they should ALWAYS contribute to a conversation even when people are avoiding eye contact and have their backs turned towards these people. They butt in whenever possible. These personalities are usually nice people but their conversation skills SUCK. This can be demonstrated in a fictitious conversation I've created:

Me: Vincent and I borrowed a golf cart from a friend and decided to walk to dogs with it. It's hilarious to see the looks of judgement we get from the neighbors for "being too lazy to walk to dogs"!
My friend: That's hilarious. My brother and I had a golf cart once and we used to drive it on nature walk paths and ride the heels of joggers. They used to get pissed!
ANNOYING personality: My dad had a golf cart.

It's the story with no point, or climax, as I refer to it. It's a story with no rhyme or reason. It's a story that people think they should be on the edge of their seats for, only to find out that they need to awkwardly scoot back. It's a story that people wait with uncomfortable pauses to see if anything will follow, only to be disappointed.

It's not that they shouldn't be allowed to talk but they should learn basic manners. If you're not invited to a conversation, don't invite yourself. I am always nice to her but I feel as an American, I have a right to have good conversations with my co-workers without someone interrupting and putting in what amounts to a buzz kill. I don't think this is too much to ask......

The Joys Of Marriage

I know, I know. I haven't posted in awhile. You know, it's funny how many e-mails and phone calls start to revolve around the blog. I'm very flattered that everyone enjoys my blog but it's also a lot of pressure. Plus, it's Spring Break!!! I've been busy doing nothing... :)
So this last weekend I was cooking Vincent's favorite dinner (which seems to be everything), Maple Mustard Pork Chops, and he asked to help me in the kitchen. I dropped something on the floor right by his foot and noticed his INCREDIBLY LONG toe nails. It was probably the grossest thing I've ever seen. I yelped and pointed to his toes. He shrugged and said he hadn't cut them in awhile because I hadn't cut them! Are you serious???? He is a grown man. After I told him this, he said that up until the latter part of college, he had never had to cut his own toe nails. He said that his mom and dad did. Also I heard Jenn, you were party to this pathetic ritual. :)
Whatever he says, I will not be cutting his toe nails EVER. God bless the manicurist that has to do it...............

I don't know if you can see very well in this picture, but look at that pinky toe! YUCK!!!

Bon Voyage!

I am studying right now (yuck, yuck, yuck) and almost completely burned out on studying since it is mid-terms this week plus it's been rough at work as well. Sometimes I think I might go clinically insane with working 40 plus hours a week at work and going to school part-time for my Master's. It's rough.

So as a break from studying I wanted to post a blog about my lil' sis, Tamarah. Some of you may or may not know but my sister took a nanny job in Salt Lake City, Utah. It all happened really fast and she left within a week of first being offered the job.

The situation of the family she's a nanny for is really sad. The mother of the only child is in a wheelchair and I believe is mostly paralyzed, which resulted from having the child. The father is a lawyer who is constantly working and really has no time for the little girl. In fact, my sister thinks that the father didn't really want any kids because his attitude towards his child is not very healthy. How sad. How can anyone feel that way towards their own child???

On a happier note, Tam loves the little girl, Isabelle and so far, likes Salt Lake City. She sent pictures and she's right, the Isabelle is adorable!! Keep sending more pics, Tam, and good luck with your new life in Salt Lake City!! (Let 'em know how great Texas is though!)

Happy Belated Birthday, Morgs!!

Yesterday I had every intention of posting a blog giving a shout out to my favorite KY person and Theta big sis, Morgs! But I got overwhelmed with work and after class last night I was looking for a double barreled shot gun rather than a computer so I completely forgot to post it.
In honor of past birthdays remembered I decided to post a pic from a birthday in college with the girls from Wiseman Hall. Doesn't the hat make her look HOT???

Only 93 days till Morgan becomes Mrs. Morgan Wolf! YAY!! I can't wait to see you, Morgs!!!

A New Pilot on the Loose!

A couple weeks ago, we drove up to Vance Air Force Base in Enid, OK (most boring drive ever). This is where my brother was stationed after he graduated from the Air Force Academy. He was studying there to become a fighter pilot and he did it! I'm so proud of him because there is NOTHING in that city and I can't believe he lived there over a year without going crazy. And I'm proud because he's finally going to do what he wants to do....fly planes! Now he will transfer to Charleston Air Force Base in Charleston, SC--whoo hoo! MUCH better place to live!
Congratulations to my brother Nate for being awesome and becoming a fighter pilot!!

You can't even see the end of the covered storage for all the planes that they have up there!
