Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile. It's been a rough couple of weeks. First, Tristan is teething and BAD. At first we just tried using a wet cloth with ice in it for him to chew on but then that wasn't enough. At night he started not sleeping the beautiful 9 hours a night he was sleeping. So we moved to medicine. During the day our babysitter gives him children's Tylenol and dissolvable teething tablets. But, at night, I do the unthinkable. Well, the unthinkable to some people but I don't care. I need my sleep. I rub children's Benadryl on Tristan's gums. Yep. Judge me. It soothes his gums and helps him sleep. Two birds- 1 stone. Hopefully soon he'll cut a tooth or two and then this will stop for awhile. Poor little guy is in so much pain :(
Second, last week, I got attacked by Strep Throat. And I say attacked because I didn't see it coming and when it hit, it hit BAD. My throat hurt Wednesday so I decided to take a nap to see if it might make me feel better. When I woke up, it hurt about 100 times worse. Then I laid down for bed, well, not for long, because after a little while I got up to throw up and literally stayed in the bathroom dry heaving for about 4 hours straight. And the worst part is that I was SOOOO thirsty. I tried drinking water and that didn't stay down for long. Then, I thought I would be tricky and suck on an ice cube. Nope, my stomach figured it out and immediately let me know. Then I tried Gatorade because I was really worried that I might have to go to the hospital at about 5 am (you'll think anything if you're dry heaving for that long). Oh and did I mention that Tristan was on and off screaming because of his teething and so Vincent had to get up and take care of him each time? Yeah, it was a miserable night. When my doctor's office opened in the morning I let them know what was going on and they gave me a prescription for anti-nausea medicine. I hurried to the store, dry heaving the whole way there. When I could finally keep water down, it took everything in me to not down as much water as possible. I took NyQuil and I was out for the rest of the day. I woke up late at night, threw up, took my medicine, waited, took NyQuil again and passed out. Repeated this again in the morning and finally woke up in the afternoon, feeling better but extremely weak. It was terrible. I haven't been that sick in a long, long time. I don't know why it hit so bad but I will be taking more vitamins from now on to prevent this in the future.
Tristan has adorable wintery outfits in the size he's wearing now that he hasn't got to wear until this last week because of the cool weather. One in particular is my absolute favorite. I had to take a million pictures because he just looked so stinkin' cute. Oh and just recently he can fit into his Winnie-The-Pooh bathrobe that he got. Plus it has little slipper/socks that go with it. O.M.G. Seriously, I don't know if the picture does it justice but it makes you cry it's so cute.
Oh and it’s IMPOSSIBLE to make Tristan smile for the camera. I don’t know how he’s so smart but when he sees the camera, he stops smiling/laughing. Which sucks because he does both of those a lot and I can’t catch it on film. But I did get a couple of pictures in his outfits where I got his smile totally by accident. I wasn’t even looking through the peep hole of the camera, I just snapped the button once I saw him smile. I tried.
And on a random subject........I LOVE Halloween. There are several reasons that I love the Halloween season. One, it means cool weather is coming. Two, I have a TON of Halloween decorations and it puts me in a great mood to come home to a decorated house. Three, I love dressing up me, my dogs, and now poor Tristan up in costumes and showing them off. Four, candy. Enough said. And, five, it means Christmas is coming and I love Christmas too.
So this weekend, I decided to decorate the inside of my house with the Halloween decorations. I have outside decorations but Vincent is making me wait till "it's at least October" before I put them up :)
Post Bath Time
(had to add a diaper cause pictures were taking too long)
