Kicks!!

Tristan got his first pair of kicks and he LOVES them!! I just want to eat him, he looks so scrumptious with them on!! Plus, he has been making more and more new faces. They are so me-at least I got something!!   :)

I can't even believe that in 1 week Tristan will be 9 months: W-O-W!! He's soooooo close to talking and/or walking. I can't even believe it. He has the 2 bottom teeth and the 2 top teeth are about to pop through. It's crazy that he's so big. I look at pictures of when he was born and what he looks like now, holy crap!!

I decided to snap some pics of Tristan in his new kicks and he decided to give me some funny faces-- priceless!!

Mama Bear

So last Thursday I had to take Tristan to the doctor. He got sick.....again. So I decided to take him by myself and just go to work late. When we got there Tristan was in a great mood, seeing all the toys and the other little girl in there. He loves kids right now. They always make him happy. So we go in there and sit down on the other side of the room from the little girl, about 4 years old, and her mom. No one else was in there. Tristan immediately starts crawling around and pulling himself up to all the little kid tables they had going on in there. He made sure to slap each one that was in there- that's his thing right now. The little girl, meanwhile, is dragging every toy in the place to the corner where she and her mom were sitting and just hoarding them there so that Tristan couldn't play with them. Luckily, Tristan doesn't care about toys and more about slapping tables so we had no problem there. Well, while I was watching him, the nurse asked me to fill out some additional paperwork. I kept my eye on Tristan for the most part but all of a sudden, I look up and Tristan has crawled over to the girl and her toys. He eyes one of them and decides that it needs a slap. He reaches over and as he does, the little girls screams "NOOOOOOOOO" and then SLAPS Tristan. My animal instincts kicked in. I waited maybe 1.5 seconds for the girl's mom to react and when she didn't, I raced over to the girl, grabbed her arm and got right in her face. "Don't you ever touch my son again. You don't ever hit babies." That's when the mom decided to chime in. "Excuse me, don't discipline my daughter." I responded with "Your daughter just hit a baby and you did nothing". Her response: "Well, he did touch her toy." Me: "Correction. The doctor office's toys." Her: "Well, she did have the toys first." Me: "He's 8 months old- he doesn't know better." I grabbed Tristan, who had looked to me when he got hit and when he didn't see confirmation that he should cry, went about crawling. As I walked to the other side of the room, I told the lady "Good luck with your creature of a daughter having any friends growing up. But, hey, everyone wants to hang out with their mom, right?" She started to say something but the nurse came out and called their name so they left. I'm sure everyone working the office saw because when the nurse came out to get us and walked us to our room she said "That little girl is a monster. We all hate her." Parents never realize how much they truly damage their kids by spoiling them that much. Seriously, what will happen when that little girl is an adult? How will she react when she doesn't get her way?? Yikes.

The most surprising thing for me was my instant reaction to kill. I mean, not really kill but I was willing to hurt that little girl very badly if she touched my son again. I never felt such emotions. I mean, I've gotten mad before but not as quickly and not without some ability to think clearly. I don't know what I would've done if that little girl just sat there hitting my child over and over again. I probably would've gone to jail. Seriously. And never in my life would I have thought of hurting a child but my first thought was to hurt anyone hurting my son. It was crazy. I get the "Mama Bear and her cub" thing. That was me.

8 months already!!

I can't believe Tristan is already 8 months old!! It is crazy how time flies by! I don't want my baby to grow up yet  :(   Oh well.........

Here are some pictures I took of Tristan in the bath playing with his bath toys. He loves the bath but you wouldn't be able to tell because he is so suspicious of my camera. If only I could get him to smile at the camera--every parent's dilemma. And we just got Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 so I played around with that as well  :)

Happy 30th, Vincent!

So Saturday I planned a surprise party for Vincent and I'm so glad that it's over. Only because it was so hard to keep the secret for so long. I fell in love with this place in downtown Dallas called Swirll. It's a wine bar where they make their wine. It's awesome. I had a bottle of wine made for Vincent and even designed the label myself! He loved every minute of it and was totally surprised. Seriously, they had the most amazing wine. I fell in love with this green apple Riesling that they make there. O.M.G. I had to watch myself. Yum! So I told Vincent we were having a date night and we walked up and everyone was there to say surprise, including about 10 drunk women that had been there all day drinking. :) We really had a great time and I would totally recommend it.

Waiting on Vincent to arrive.........
