Growing Pains

So there a quite a few new things going on in the Martinez house:

1) I finished my Christmas project with MANY attempts at it. It definitely turned out great but it will also be my last time to do this project. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. First I tried to use stencils but that led to smeared letters. Then I did etching, which had the same result. Finally, I just did some ol' fashioned drawings. After that I had to bake the wine glasses in the oven in order to keep the design from getting ruined in the dishwasher. Then I made wine charms out of jingle bells. I had to spray paint the bells which was definitely a lot harder than I thought. The paint kept coming off each side that touched the ground. Ugh. So finally I made a clothes line of a wire hanger and hung each one up. ROUGH. But everyone that received them LOVED them so it was worth it.

2) On the topic of Christmas, Tristan got quite a few gifts but not to be outdone by others, Vincent and I got him the BEST gift ever. He absolutely loves it. It's the Bright Start Tropical Fun Around We Go Activity Station (try saying that 10 times fast). It's a table that has a chair attached to it that he can roll around and play at 4 different "stations". Then when he gets older, the chair can be removed and he can just play at the table. He really does have too many toys. Luckily, there'll be more kids in the future that can play with these toys :)

Look at my naked lil' ghetto baby

What is that look???

3) My baby got his FIRST TOOTH. AAAAAAHHHHHHHH! I'm so sad. Please, baby boy, SLOW DOWN on the whole growing thing. Yeah, and I took this picture 2 days ago and guess what??? ANOTHER ONE has show up next to this one!!! What am I going to do??

Can you see it?? It's on the bottom to the right a little.

4) We had to get a new car seat for Tristan.......(sigh). Seriously, this makes me more sad than the tooth. Both Vincent and I got a car seat for our cars because unlike the last car seat, this one will stay in the car constantly. The only cool thing is that I got to pick my own design. I picked the one with hand prints and Vincent picked the one with leather that matched his car (what a guy!). While we were shopping, I got super sad because this car seat will last until Tristan is about 3-4 years old. He's definitely moved onto a new stage.

I like the hand prints because it's gender neutral for future children but also cute :)

This car seat is HUGE. Yet another reminder that my baby is growing up too fast :(

5) Last, I posted these pictures on Facebook but I took even more pictures of the costume because the ones we took in Georgia didn’t really show the top hat attached to the side. It's a snow man outfit that I found online and I fell IN LOVE with. I hope that it's super embarrassing to Tristan later on in life ;)

He's really trying to suck his thumb but the snow man scarf is getting in the way ;)

So I think I've wrapped up pretty much everything going on. Oh, and I made an A in my classes this last semester....YAY!! I really didn't know if I could balance being a mommy and finishing my graduate classes but not only did I do it, but I made an A!!! Now, the next step.......GRADUATE!

I am definitely working on making a video of Tristan attempting to walk. He wants to soooo bad so I know it's coming soon. If not soon, I will still make a video of the attempts.

I love the tooth!!! I cant believe how fast time has gone! How was teething? as horrible as I am imagining it to be? Bella's gums are still pretty soft, I am very scared about what is to come!
Love that table and chair thing, how much did it cost and where did you get it?

Awww thanks! Teething was pretty terrible. When Bella starts crying and screaming for no reason and won't stop-- give her Tylenol. Well, I don't know how you feel about Tylenol but it has been my saving grace during teething :) The table and chair thing I got from Amazon for about $100, including shipping. He loves it though.
