Michiganders!

This last week my family (excluding Vincent and Tristan) flew up to Detroit, Michigan to see my baby brother, Galen, graduate college. We had a great time although I did miss my little man sooooo very much. We did a lot while we were up there. We went to the Henry Ford Museum and it was super interesting. We had a lot of fun. Then there were the gardens in Ann Arbor. Of course, my family has to be goofy. Then the graduation.

I also got to see an old friend, Kim, while I was there. Of course, I have always adored her kids and sure enough, they lived up to my expectations. I think the best moment of the night was 2 naked little boys with the funny glasses that I bought them on, running around. No, we didn't take a picture. Should have.

Anyway, here are some pics from the trip.

Moving

I know that I have not done a blog in over a month but I have been beyond busy. Work has me working overtime every day. School is usually what I do on the weekends since I have absolutely NO time during the week. I'm tired all the time and I lust after sleep. Yeah, it's been bad. Oh and did I mention we have NO friends? I apologize to everyone that I have blown off in the last few months. But really, our house is chaos.

Then, if you can believe, it got worse. We decided to put our house on the market to sell. We need a bigger house. Tristan is getting bigger by the day and I want him to be able to be happy playing in our house with his friends. In order to be sold, we have had to do TONS of things to the house. Paint specific areas, move cluttering furniture to the garage, steam clean all the carpets.....and the list goes on and on. We haven't even started packing and I'm burned out.

All the while we've been working on the house, we have been looking at houses. That was a huge debate between Vincent and I and it seemed that it would have no resolution until we found our dream house. First we went to Savannah but the more I visited, the more I felt like I was on the set of Pleasantville.  It became a little creepy so we thought it might be best to find a house that was not like every house in the neighborhood. We found a housing community that has a lot to offer and fell in love with our dream house. We are going to build it. It's in Little Elm. We haven't started building yet but once we get further along with selling our house, we will start building. I stole some pictures from the website to give you a sneak peek even though they don't do the house justice at all. I LOVE it. It's a beautiful home. Plus we will be closer to family and friends. I can't wait. These pictures keep me going because I am going through my own personal hell with trying to balance everyday life with selling a home. Goo.

Why Men Shouldn't Be Left Alone.....AT ALL?

So I know I haven't blogged in awhile and I really hate to have my newest blog be a rant.....but it is.

I have been super busy lately...Tristan, work, grad school...so I haven't had time to do anything except to sleep. Vincent offered to go grocery shopping during the last few times and I was grateful, the first time, until it became a problem. He's dumb. Don't get me wrong. I love my husband more than words can say but I really am starting to believe that men are dumb without women. Vincent hardly cooks so I can't expect him to remember what cooking supplies we have or don't have. But when I give him a list of everything that we need and he strays off of the list and misses it completely, I start to wonder. This has happened about 6 times. And every time he goes shopping he buys the SAME stupid products that we DON'T need. I mean, wouldn't you learn the first time??? Nope. Not him. And I don't think he's alone. I think men inherited this stupid gene. It's a caveman instinct to buy things because you FEEL like you MIGHT need them. Arrrggghhhh.

Here are some examples:

He got this bag of croutons because he said it "reminded me of you". I don't eat croutons. Nor does he.This is actually a GIANT bag. Not just a small bag, in case you can't tell.

We use BBQ sauce but the right 2 jars we've had for about 3 months. He bought 2 more bottles.

Neither he nor I eat peanut butter. 2 jars. As if 1 wasn't enough.

We have never used vegetable broth. Ever. He decided to buy 4 cans of it.

There is a reason that women exist. So that men aren't left alone. Ever.
