Comic Relief

Vincent and I got a video tonight that made my entire night, plus some. It actually distracted me from the back pain and that takes a lot. It is one of my favorite comedians, Louis CK doing stand-up. I went to YouTube and found this clip from the video, Chewed Up. It was hilarious. If you ever get bored just look up Louis CK's videos on YouTube--seriously funny. Anyway, I thought I'd share a little of my happiness and pass on the video. It's awesome!!

Driving me crazy

At what point did basic respect for other drivers just go away completely? I know that there used to be a little courtesy on the road but when did it go away altogether??

A perfect example happened to me a few nights ago on my way to class. I get to campus and begin the long wait to finding a parking spot. The parking lot I always park in is huge and therefore there is a greater chance of finding a spot more quickly than in other lots. The thing about this lot, though, is that the lanes are narrow and 1 way on each row (see diagram). Even though we are going to college there and assumed that we should know as well, the school has kindly put arrows on the concrete to guide us the direction that the cars must go in so as to go down the correct row to park. These arrows are just in case you're not observant enough to look at the particular direction the cars in that lane are facing to guide as to whether or not to go down that row. I am being extremely sarcastic because this is not the only place that they use this kind of system......grocery stores, workplaces, and even malls all take part in this type of parking. So every driver out there should get practice on the way these parking lots work.

So back to my story. I found a spot almost immediately after I pulled into the parking lot but it was the "stalker spot". That is, I saw the guy walking up from about 25 feet away and hit his clicker and the lights on the car went off and I had enough time to stop and wait. As I stopped to wait, I see ahead of me, going in the completely wrong direction and quite fast, a car coming towards me. Now my first instinct was to back up and make room for this poor idiot driver. Even though they are stupid, no one's perfect so why not help a brother out, right?? Before I could even put my car in reverse this ho bag goes full speed ahead towards my car and then when she reaches my car and can't get past.....she HONKS.....at me. Not a little honk but she laid her hand down on the horn and left it there for about 30 seconds. I'm sorry, did I drive down the wrong lane even after seeing the direction of the cars and the helpful arrows??? No ma'am. You're a moron and now you will suffer for it.

So the ho bag keeps honking and I look at her and shrug and shake my head. This really pisses her off. She gets out of her car and proceeds to point out the direction that she wants me to move in. I roll down my window, just a tiny bit, and say "not my problem." I know that everyone who knows me knows this is something that I would definitely do but to be honest, I think I'm growing up or the baby is making me think things out more. I figured that saying something like this would bring retaliation so I prepared a back-up plan. I grabbed my cell phone and sure enough she runs over to my window. At this point, I roll my window up and now she's screaming at me to back up. I then point to the phone and punch in "911" and show her. This immediately calms her down and she gets back into her car. Then as a final statement she screams "bitch" and backs up to correct her mistake.

I know I probably wasn't helping the situation out with my attitude but how in the world does one think they have the right to do what they want when they screwed up?? Shouldn't they be taking responsibility for their actions?? I know I'm not the perfect driver without road rage but I at least like to show a little bit of courtesy when I know I screw up. Sometimes I think there should be police out there that give you tickets for not showing respect for other drivers. Can you imagine how different the roads would be knowing someone was watching them for road rage??

I am......

So for everyone out there that feels like I'm being flaky is wrong......I'm actually just lame. My back pain and now my rib pain are my constant companions, along with some terrible acid reflux. Seriously, I have never been in pain constantly like this. I now have a respect for people that suffer from pain on a continual basis. And what's even more frustrating is what I can't do about it. I've been told by some women that have been pregnant that their doctor prescribed them some sort of pain medicine. Mine won't. Tylenol is the answer I'm always given. Tylenol sucks. I figure if I complain enough at each visit that maybe it might magically make some prescription pain reliever become okay. I will say that my doctor did prescribe me some medicine for my acid reflux and it works. It's just that the acid reflux is so bad that as soon as the medicine wears off, it's back. So pretty much every 6 hours I have to take my medicine or else.

What stinks is that sitting down is so miserable so it makes work TERRIBLE. Standing gives me some relief so every now and then I'll randomly stand up. I'm sure my co-workers think I'm a weirdo. What's worse is that my husband took me out to Texas De Brazil for Valentine's Day. I LOVE this place. But half-way through the meal, the pain became unbearable. All I could do was lean to the side (which didn't look weird at all) and wait for Vincent to finish eating. I felt terrible. Seriously, I wish that I could enjoy this pregnancy but I can't. I can't wait for it to be over. I'm excited to be a mom but I will not miss this part. I know that a lot of women love being pregnant but I hate it. Not dislike, but hate.

So any of you out there are trying to make plans with me and I avoid them, I'm not exaggerating the extent of my pain. I am avoiding plans because I'm afraid to commit and then be in pain for the entire time. I promise that if I get pain relievers or if the baby gets out of my back and ribs then I will become a social butterfly again. Until then, it's work and school and then laying on a heating pad on the couch. I'll try to post blogs but I haven't felt the desire to write recently. It could be the fact that sitting and typing is painful or the fact that nothing has been going on due to the pain--take your pick.

Anyway, I just wanted to post something letting everyone know not to take my lameness personally. It's not. I'm avoiding everyone :)

22 weeks

So I wanted to go ahead and get pictures now because this last weekend was the first time that random strangers were asking me how far along I was. I feel like in the last week I have popped considerably. But it was definitely a first for strangers to ask about my pregnancy so I must be as big as I feel :)
Sorry for the lame back drop.....Vincent wanted to take the pictures in the same place (our front porch) as before so we could compare my belly in the exact same position every time.

Funny Stuff!

My mom sent me this video and it definitely made my night! It makes me want to teach the map and the dance to my child!!
