Drumroll please..........

So Tristan is going to have a lil' BROTHER!! YAY!! We are super excited!! And the doctor said "Oh, it's DEFINITELY a boy!!!" And of course Vincent had to say, "Yeah, he gets that from me." Men. Geez..... But we are super excited to add another little boy to the brood because I LOVE boys. I hate to say I show favoritism towards them but I do. Plus, I was an awful little girl growing up so I just know if I had one, she would be just like me. Uggghhhh.

Tristan is walking full time with a fall every now and then. He's saying some words in Spanish (IMAGINE THAT), mostly from a song in Spanish that he knows. That's because I have insisted that every video he watches be in Spanish. He and I have both been learning it together. Which is ironic because Vincent, the Spaniard, knows absolutely no Spanish. I know Spanish from years in school and traveling Spain for a month but if you don't use it, you lose it. I have every desire to have my children speak it though so I'm trying. Hopefully, it sticks.

Summer school is almost over and I get 2 weeks break before fall semester starts. This summer semester was a beating. I abandoned all friends and spent all my time either with Tristan, working or studying. It was 2 classes that I'm not great at so I had to study extra hard. Plus, I'm pregnant and feeling yucky. Exhausted 24 hours 7 days a week. I would not recommend that schedule to anyone.

My brother, Nate, has a baby due in a few weeks and we hope to go visit him but the timing with classes may not work out. We'll see. But I am so excited for them!! YAY!!

My Big Boy

Since Tristan turned 1, I decided to take some pictures to mark the occasion. Vincent has been complaining that I don't use my super nice camera enough so I decided to take some amateur pictures. Please excuse the lack of professionalism but hey, they are pictures of Tristan and that was the goal  :)

We went to this park in Coppell and got some great shots. I even bought him a cake so he could dive into that. Then when we got home, I got an idea of putting him in Vincent's shoes and tie. The kitchen ended up where he was being cooperative about taking pictures.

Anyway, here are the pictures of my little boy, already 1  :(

All Growed Up

On June 11, my baby turned 1!! It was super sad and unbelievable at the same time. I made a video of pics from his first year that I posted on Facebook but for all you non-FB's here it is again

He had his 1 year check up and here are his results: 75% in head circumference, 50% in weight, and 75% in height. The doctor said it looks like he's going to be a tall boy. I sure hope so because it stinks being small.

He can talk and say "dadadadadadad" and "yayayayayayaya" which is basically Dad and Grandma's names. Great. He can walk, although he mostly does it when he's not at home- of course. He sleeps 12 hours a night and his temper is starting to show through. He eats all adult food and drinks milk and no formula. And, boy oh boy, does he love him some food. If you give him some gold fish but you eat pizza, he'll throw his fish on the ground and demand the pizza. Yeah, that's all from his daddy  ;)   The boy never ceases to amaze us or entertain us. He makes us laugh each and every day. And he definitely makes us wonder what the next kid will be like. I can only imagine......

#2

So, once again, if you're not on Facebook or if you missed my inconspicuous status ........................................I'M PREGNANT! I am 12 weeks along and doing pretty good. I haven't been too sick. I have, though, been SUPER tired. Falling asleep at my desk, almost in my car.....ridiculous! I mean, it's seriously been bad. It has also lasted a lot longer than with Tristan. Hopefully it goes away soon. Arrgh. I go for my first ultrasound this Friday so I'm excited to see the lil' noodle.

It was pretty awesome on how I found out. I found out on my birthday, which I just happened to take the day off from work. So I went to Hobby Lobby, bought some iron ons and a onesie and made Tristan a onesie. It said "Future Big Brother" and on the back it said "Party At My Crib" with a picture of a baby crib. It was pretty awesome. Then Vincent got home and I asked him to go get Tristan from his bed and followed him. Vincent was soo surprised and excited!!

It is definitely harder being pregnant with a baby to take care of as well. Ugggh. Plus I start school again and have class EVERY night of the week. NOT excited. You definitely won't hear from me for awhile on here.

Also, house has still NOT sold. Yuck. I need to move from this house. ASAP.

Actual Thoughts

Yeah I know I haven't actually blogged with some real thoughts in awhile, only updates and pictures. I miss blogging - I love writing. Oh and did I mention I'm writing a book? Yeah, that'll be another 15+ years before I finish it. Somehow it's easier to blog than write chapters of a book.

I got to thinking about how much of our lives we actually live for our very own self. I found an old college buddy on Facebook and was looking at how beautiful her pictures were of her and her kid. Then, I read some of her posts about working out for 3+ hours a day, eating disgusting meals, etc, etc. So, yeah, to look that great takes sacrifice. A lot of sacrifice. And planning and dedication. And to me, sadness that certain things have to be sacrificed. I know a lot of people could say that they enjoy working out. Sure. I'm definitely not one of them. But do they enjoy feeling guilty about missing a work out? Or feeling guilty about splurging on a most tasty meal? I just wish there was an in-between where you're not super skinny but you're not obese, just healthy. And all of society liked this in-between.

Then it made me think about how everyone at my job that gets promoted is SUPER fake and annoying but yet they get promoted. I mean, to be that dedicated to fake, you have to practice it pretty much all the time, right? So when are they real? I mean, who are they really? Do they even know? Just a fake person imitating a fake personality. Why do people like that?

I have always had a hard time in life mainly because I don't think before I talk. And while I definitely think that this is a problem and needs to be worked on and controlled better, I also think that some people find it as a breath of fresh air. But at the same time, I am never rewarded for this trait. I am always thrown under the bus but secretly admired for being able to say what I think. I find this extremely frustrating. I am extremely happy with who I am, even with my zillions of faults while others who are constantly questioning what they just said, thought, did because they are afraid to look bad in front of others are applauded for this. Why is it so horrible when I say something that is true but "not nice"? Wouldn't the world be a better place if more people heard the "not nice" version of things? I mean, isn't that true life?

I guess it just drives me nuts because I admire people with the most sense. Common sense is a precious gem to me and not a lot of people have it. But yet, the most moronic people seem to get ahead in life. I guess it's people like me who are always the ones to stir up controversy and change but it would be nice if the people with the most common sense could win a little bit more. If we could see more people at the top that aren't fake. Making decisions that aren't "safe". Making people mad. Telling people not what they want to hear but what they need to hear. I'm sure there's a negative to this somewhere along the way, but I'd like to see someone at least try.   ;)
