My little sunshine

So, my kids are super sick and I had to stay home from work to take care of them on Friday as well as today. Mainly because they got me sick as well. Yuck. But my beautiful Caleb is such a sweet kid and has been smiley even though he has a fever. I love that kid. He has the best temperament EVER. I don't know how he is already 3 months old. Man, they grow up so fast. On top of that, I'm starting to forget how terrible it was to be pregnant which is not a good sign :) If I knew that I would absolutely have another boy I would get pregnant again. But since I can't guarantee that, I am not sure if I will have any more kids.Vincent is just happy that I'm starting to forget pregnancy. He thinks that's a start. :)

So I took crappy pictures of Caleb starting to smile and posted them to Facebook and I didn't really like them. But I decided to get a video of his smile since the pictures turned out like crap because he was moving so much. It's adorable.

Carpet Disaster

So since I have a few minutes before class I thought I would mention the story about Tristan ruining my carpet (well, for a little while anyway). For those of you who don't have kids or do and have never heard of Gentian Violet- let me explain. Little babies get thrush in their mouths all the time. Thrush is an infection in the mouth that hurts the baby and causes them to be SUPER fussy and have a hard time eating. Back in our parent's day they would dab Gentian Violet on the inside of the mouth and VOILA, all gone in 1 day. Now, they give you a prescription that takes at least a week to get rid of it. That's why I use Gentian Violet. But, Gentian Violet is a purple dye. You have to be SUPER careful with it because it stains.

Well, Caleb looked like he was getting thrush and I wanted to stay on top of it, so I went and got the Gentian Violet. I dabbed some in his mouth, made sure I screwed the top VERY tightly and then turned my attention to Caleb's mouth to catch the spit up before it hit and ruined his clothes. This took about 30 seconds. In this time, Tristan had unscrewed the Gential Violet, dumped in on the carpet and couch, and proceeded to stomp in it and press his hands in it. By the time I figured it out, all I could see was purple. And then I freaked. I just knew Vincent was going to physically beat me for the first time ever when he saw the ruined carpet. He was grocery shopping so I quickly tried all of our cleaning supplies on the carpet. Nothing. Our very expensive steam cleaner was being worked on at the shop so I didn't have that. So after nothing worked, I sat defeated and started to cry. Pretty sure we can't sell a house with bright purple carpet. Tristan figured out I was upset and gave me a hug around the neck while standing on the couch behind me. Man, I don't think anything is better than a little boy's arms around your neck. He was forgiven by me instantly. In the end, Vincent also wasn't mad because Tristan went over to Vincent after he got home, patted him on the back, and said "Okay, Dah Dah". Like he was comforting Vincent. It worked. Thank God he's cute.  :)

It also worked out because the very expensive steam cleaner did its job. It took it all out. I mean all of it. That right there was worth every penny we paid for it. Anyway, I couldn't bear to take a picture of the carpet because I was so ashamed of my bad parenting but I did manage to take pictures of Tristan post-destruction. Believe me, these pictures do the event NO justice. It was horrific.

Greatest. Book. Ever

So I wanted to post a real quick blog about the book I just finished reading. Twice. It's amazing. It's called "Heaven is for real: a little boy's astounding story of his trip to Heaven and back". So, I have to admit that my faith has been lacking in the last few years. I haven't been the greatest Christian and I'm not exactly proud of that. Then I read this book. It definitely has made my faith shoot up dramatically. It's about a 4 year-old boy who went to Heaven and came back and told his parents about it. They're not sure if he died or not because he was in surgery but they know for sure he went to Heaven. I'll tell you a little bit of the book that it talks about it the book summary so that I'm not ruining anything. His mom had a miscarriage before she had her 2 kids when she was about 2 months along. Of course, she didn't tell her kids and she definitely didn't mention it to her 4 year old. Well, long story short, the boy talks about meeting the girl in Heaven and she told him that she died in their mommy's stomach and that she didn't have a name yet because their parents hadn't named her yet. Oh my gosh, gave me goosebumps again. Anyway, if you have a Kindle or love reading, read this book- it really is awesome.

I will post another blog soon about Tristan's first destruction of our house but for now I have to go to class then pick up the kids, then do laundry and then study. Yeah, it sucks being me right now  :)

Finally!

So FINALLY two things happened. First, Vincent and I got new phones and joined the world of smart phones. We are super nerdy and put a lot of research into finding the best smart phone we could get. We also asked my brother Galen who is the expert on all things phone-related. We decided on the new phone - HTC Inspire. It's awesome!! It's a 4G phone with a 4.3 inch screen. Vincent and I can't get enough of them.

Sooooooo the 2nd thing is that with my awesome new phone I took a video of Tristan's dance with his V-tech puppy dog. Excuse my mess of a living room. We were vacuuming and piled all of Tristan's toys in the corner. Don't judge :)

Back to School. Back to School, to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool.

So I started work last Thursday and am actually very glad to be back. It's nice to use my brain for something other than feeding a baby and remembering to do laundry and clean the house. Yuck.

Last weekend my Dad, Caleb, and I went to Georgia to visit my grandparents. My grandfather loved every minute of the visit. My grandmother is not doing too well and doesn't always remember who she's talking to or where she's at. But Caleb made her very happy. As my dad says, "Everyone always loves babies". Caleb did phenomenal on the plane ride there and back. Of course, it helped that I had a sling that both of my children absolutely loved. It's called the maya wrap (click on words for website) and it's the best baby item I ever bought. Caleb was pulled in super tight to me with it and could hear my heartbeat and breathing so it made him go to sleep instantly. So, as much as I would like to take credit for Caleb sleeping so much, I really have that sling to thank. We visited all my Georgia favorites and it was beautiful there. It was chilly but not snowy/slushy like it was in Dallas. I love Georgia. I really don't think there's a better place. I love the old homes, the pine trees, the weather, the food, and the people. The first time I brought Vincent to Georgia, he fell in love as well. Now we both want to move there. Although, unless my parents, brothers and sisters move there, we probably won't. But we definitely would love to. I do have pictures of Caleb and my grandpa but of course no pictures of the dimples.

So Tristan has this new adorable thing he does now, which is dancing. Sometimes he looks like he's having a seizure but it's still funny. Well, anytime he hears music on the TV he immediately drops what he's doing and starts the convulsions. But then he figured out that he has a stuffed animal that makes music. It's one of those V-tech toys and if you have kids you know what I'm talking about. I'm pretty we have all the V-Tech toys. But this particular toy is a puppy dog that you can touch his ear and it says "ear", touch his hand and it says "hand", etc. But then there's a feature that if you hit the foot twice all those touchable areas play different music. It sometimes takes Tristan awhile to find the music option but when he does, he's in heaven. While I was gone Vincent got a video of it for me. He recorded it on his Ipod and I can't figure out how to transfer the video to my computer. Anyone know if you can transfer videos from your Ipod??  If I can't transfer, I will try and get another video of it when it happens again.

And I thought I was busy before.....try going to work, school, and taking care of 2 kids. It's awful. I have been exhausted non-stop. But I blogged. You're welcome ;)
