After a 13 hour drive up to Kentucky with Vincent, God bless him, I wanted to kill him. We got to Morgan's (my best friend from college) and we were still snapping at each other. The next morning Vincent, Morgan, and her boyfriend Jake all left me in bed (which was fine by me) without a clue to where they were going. When they got back home I was told that Morgan and Jake helped Vincent plan a surprise romantic dinner to ease the tension between us. Later that afternoon Vincent told me to get dressed up and fast. He made this clear by repeating "Hurry up" over and over again. Good thing that wasn't annoying. We left and arrived in the parking garage of the unknown dinner destination. As we got out of the car Vincent realized he had lost his wallet once again (this was the second time in a matter of a couple of days). I proceeded to watch him throw a tantrum of some sort and then demand that we go back to the house and check for it. On our way I called Morgan to let her know of the situation and she told me to go ahead and pay for the dinner and that she and Jake would check for the wallet. We got back to the mystery restaurant, this time determined to start over. Vincent did good too. He tried to not think about it as we walked into The Old Spaghetti Factory. The food was amazing. The atmosphere there would've put anyone in a good mood. After we sat down, Morgan called to say that she had found the wallet. This put Vincent at ease. During dinner Vincent had told me that he was planning on taking me on the horse and carriage ride that started just outside the restaurant. Well, since I'm not shy about eating, I proceeded to fill my belly well beyond the need and then became tired---very quickly. We went back to the car to put our stuff up and by the time we came back to the horse and carriage ride, a rather large line had formed. I became uninterested in the ride almost immediately. Vincent felt the same. We went back to the car and started the drive back home. Vincent then said he wanted to take me to this place that Morgan had showed him earlier that day. I told him that I would rather go home. He begged me to at least look at it. I told him that if I couldn't see if from the car, then I wanted to go home and go to bed. He said it would only take a minute and I told him that it better or I would drive myself home without him. I grunted and got out of the car. As we rounded the corner of a building I was surprised at what I found. There was a beautiful reflection pool that had stepping stones leading to a giant stepping stone in the middle.Pouring into the pool was a huge waterfall. On either side of the waterfall were stairs leading to an overlook of the river (Ohio River). Seriously, great place. Well,we go out onto the rock in the middle and I sit down and put my feet in the water. There were couples all around. At this very moment, 3 teenage girls decide to run into the pool, fully clothed and stand under the waterfall. A teenage boy followed them around, taking pictures. It went on for about 15 minutes, while Vincent paced behind me. When they finally left, most of the couples had left as well. Vincent asked me if I wanted to go look at the river. I agreed and stood up. As I turned to walk away, Vincent asked me for a hug. Confused, I gave him a hug and started to pull away. He wouldn't let go.Right then, he started giggling. He wouldn't stop. I knew then what was about to happen. He pulled me away, looked at me, giggled, pulled me back. This cycle repeated several times before he said "Umm, I had a speech...." More giggles and hugs. Then he pulled me away again and said "Do you want to go home and go to bed now?"He nervously giggled and pulled me back to him again. I was so confused and scared that he was backing out.I asked "What is going on?" He then said "I can't seem to talk." More giggling, followed by pulling and pushing of me. Finally, he pushed me away and slowly made his way to the ground. He muttered "Crap, I forgot the ring", stood back up, got the ring out of his pocket and slowly went down again. He then asked "Carmelle, will you marry me?" I stood staring at the ring, forgetting to answer. Finally he screamed "Say yes, say yes!!" I was like "Of course!" He stood up, hugged me, and said "Babe I really botched that one up, didn't I?"
