So here I am, in a hospital room, blogging, just 2 days after giving birth to the best thing that has ever happened to me. I really never thought I would be blogging at the hospital but there's really nothing else to do but feed the baby, sleep every now and then, wait to leave the hospital, and during the wait- watch TV and/or browse the Internet. We are here for 3 days so that is definitely plenty of time to get somewhat adjusted to the hospital schedule. I'm sure it all changes once we go home and the real world begins :)
Well, let's skip quickly to the fun stuff----- Tristan's day. I checked into the hospital about 8pm on Wednesday night. They put us in a "suite" room and, oh-my-gosh, was it awesome!! Then they gave me Cytotec to soften my cervix and told me there was a chance of starting contractions......and start them it did!!! They told me to get some rest, gave me some Ambien and they would be back in at 4 am to check things out. Well at 2 am, they came in and told me that I had to change rooms. There were some high risk patients that came in and so Vincent and I were told to go ahead and go down to the labor room that I would've been put in the next morning. There they checked things out and discovered that I was 3 cm. Then, about an hour later my water broke. Things became foggy and hazy after that because I got the epidural plus I had a strong dose of Ambien in my system. All I know is that at 9am I was 8 cm and then at 10:00am, I became 10 cm. So pushing began and went on for about 2 hours and then my doctor came in to do the final delivery. She had me push for her and she reached in to feel for Tristan's head. Then the baby's heart monitor shot up to 210 and the doctor said that the baby was in distress. She said that the baby's head was not in the correct direction of the birth canal and that it was off just enough to make him stuck. So it was decided right then and there that an emergency C section would have to be done. So at 1:06pm a beautiful child was put in front of my face, where I was only allowed to kiss him. It was so frustrating to not be able to hold him because it was seriously the best moment of my life. They really do need to figure out a better way for 1st time mothers (at the very least) to hold their babies. Anything beats having your hands tied down with absolutely no ability to do anything at all!!!
I am posting a ton of pictures (which I'm sure won't be the last time I post a ton of pictures of Tristan) but......................ENJOY!

Congratulations!!! I am so glad everything wound up being ok and that you have such a healthy, precious baby!!! I hope mine has the same happy ending!! You look great!
Tristan is way too cute and it looks like he already is telling jokes. I love it and wish I could meet him soon!
very happy for you all!!! I agree it stinks not being able to hold them right away after c-section, but I don't even remember Nash's birth I was so drugged up with that c-section... luckily you get plenty of time to make up with lots of snuggling now!
