So yesterday was a bad day. You know when you wake up and something happens almost immediately and you know it's going to be a bad day? It was one of those....
Vincent got up for work, got ready, and kissed me good-bye at 6:30. I got up a few minutes later, tripped getting out of bed, and bumped my head on the chase lounge chair in our room. After getting up from that I went in to take a shower and there was only cold water. After my lovely cold shower that really more people should take, I find that my phone had 10 missed calls from Vincent. I called him back and he had a flat tire about 5 miles from the house. He had it taken care of until the jack he was using broke while under the car....so it wouldn't let the car come down so he couldn't leave. Since there is a Wal-Mart near our house and on the way to where he was, I told him I would stop by Wal-Mart and buy another jack.
Anyone that knows me knows that I love to drive fast. On a good day I'm going at least 10 miles over the speed limit but on a bad day it's even more. And what do you know? I get pulled over. The cop asked if I had a reason to speed like I was and I explained everything to him, from tripping the moment I got out of bed to Vincent getting a flat and the jack breaking. The cop shook his head and laughed and then said "Unfortunately, Mrs. Martinez, I have to give you a ticket but my advice to you is to stay home after this because it doesn't sound like your day can get much better." Great.
So I go to Wal-Mart and get Vincent his jack and at this point I'm determined to make the day better. I bring Vincent his jack and stay with him while I watch him finish putting his car on the ground. We kiss each other good-bye and he gets in his car. It won't start. His battery has died. He looks at me and we both say at the same time "Maybe we should just stay home today."
Sometimes you just need to go home and get back into bed and start the day over again........
