Cousin Jenn sent pictures that she took with her camera phone when they babysat on Friday night that I'm posting as well. They are a little dark but you can still appreciate the cuteness! Also I took some pics of just me and him. Of course, he made a different face for each picture so I'm posting them all. He's just so goofy and I love it.
I really do love being a mother and still can't believe I actually am. There are no words to describe this whole experience. Being at home with him to bond has been the absolute best. Though at times it does get rough between him crying and the dogs being bad at the same time but I still would not trade it for anything. Tristan is the best baby ever and I can only hope that any babies we have in the future will be this good :) Being a mom has been the best experience in my life. I never thought that my love for my dogs could be out shined but the love I have for Tristan outshines that love by miles and miles. It's incredible. My friend, Kim in Michigan described it best in an e-mail that she sent me shortly before Tristan was born:
She said "No matter how many books you read, every experience is different and every baby is different. The one exception and that is that you will probably be amazed at how much love you feel at the strangest moments. And the love grows and grows. I am continually blown away by how these two little faces overwhelm me with love. Even during fits of crying, pulling the dog's tail, exhaustion, throwing food, biting, etc. there is nothing like two little eyes smiling at you first thing in the morning or a little boy bringing you a flower or the first time they draw you a picture and write "mama" on it. I never realized how much someone calling me "mama" would make me feel better than anything else in the world or that it would cure any ailment."
This, though I can't relate to everything she writes just yet, definitely describes being a mom to me. Thanks Kim for these wise words--they are awesome!!
Now I'd better get back to Tristan- he just woke up :)
