I got hooked on MTV's "16 and pregnant" an episode or two after it aired. It is a train wreck. It seemed like every couple was even more moronic than the last. I mean, seriously, they were totally unprepared to having a child. But really, which 16 year old would be prepared?? It is a good way to portray teenage parenting because it is realistic but nonetheless these kids seemed to be especially stupid. Well, even though the show seemed to be causing me to lose brain cells, I kept watching. Then, something strange happened. The BEST episode EVER aired. It was about a couple named Catelynn and Tyler. They had gotten pregnant and decided that their baby would be better off being adopted. But that decision was made even though BOTH of their white-trash parents were telling to keep the kid even though the couple couldn't afford it or even had a place to live. Catelynn and Tyler seriously have to be the wisest 16 year olds that I've ever seen. Every time Catelynn and Tyler said something that made my mouth drop, like how if they kept their baby that the chances are their baby would be a teenage parent too, then they would say something else that shocked me again. I mean, seriously, these kids don't give off a great first impression but the more I watched the more I wanted to be their friends. They are awesome people and they're only 16 so can you imagine how they'll turn out when they are older??? And on the season finale Thursday, Dr. Drew hosted it and actually turned out to be a giant dousche bag, which I normally wouldn't say because I LOVE Dr. Drew (physically and for his brains). But it was like MTV told him to just read from the teleprompter and not be himself. So he did just that. There were so many awkward conversations with all the other teens except when he got to Catelynn and Tyler. He obviously stopped reading from the prompt and gushed all over them telling them how smart and wise beyond their years they are. They were both kind of embarrassed but I feel exactly like Dr. Drew. These kids deserve to be honored for not only making this really tough decision but having the wisdom to know why it is so hard. Way to go, MTV. After years of trashy reality shows like "Rock of Love", "Real World", "Charm School", etc, etc, (not saying that I don't watch them) you finally find some classy Americans and managed to portray them with decency. I really am impressed. Good job, keep on truckin'.
Check out the episode that aired with Catelynn and Tyler. If you have a soul, it will break your heart (in a good way). It's about 40 minutes long but totally worth the time..... (click here if it's not working below)
On another gay note while at home with Tristan this whole time I decided to buy some flower pots and flowers for our front porch. I was a little iffy about it because I don't do well with flowers but I've managed to water them every day and they look great! I'm so impressed and the porch looks amazing. Like I said, it's pretty gay......this is what you get excited about when you get married and have kids :)

I am so excited to see that someone felt as strongly about the show as I did. I cried through Catelynn's whole episode. The show also allowed me to revisit the idea of eventually adopting a child!
that girl's from Michigan!! haha and yea those flowers are pretty gay
